GIF Frame Extractor

Extract individual frames from a GIF and download as PNG (WebCodecs, no dependencies)

Your browser does not support the ImageDecoder API required for GIF frame extraction. Please use Chrome or Edge.

How to use

  1. Click Upload GIF and select an animated GIF file (Chrome or Edge required).
  2. Wait for the frame decoding progress indicator to finish.
  3. Browse the extracted frame thumbnails in the grid.
  4. Click the PNG download link below each thumbnail to save that frame as a PNG.

Examples

  • A 24-frame GIF produces 24 thumbnails labelled frame-1.png through frame-24.png, each downloadable individually.
  • A single-frame GIF (static) extracts one PNG thumbnail with no animation frames to scroll through.

Verify outputs before using in production. No warranty — see Terms.
